A brief history of Vanguard Mutual Funds
Originally founded in 1975, Vanguard has evolved into the largest pure no-load mutual fund company in the world. There are primarily known for their low-cost index fund offerings, but they also offer a wide array of actively managed, low-cost mutual funds a line of ETF’s (exchange-traded funds) which were originally known as VIPER’s. Additionally, the company also provides the following:

Currently, the oldest mutual fund that they offer is the Wellington Fund which was established prior to the stock market crash of 1929 in the month of July.
